Report Cigarette and Tobacco Sales on Mille Lacs Reservation

A recent federal court ruling determined that the Mille Lacs Band of Ojibwe?s reservation boundaries set in 1855 remains intact. We want to make sure you report cigarette and tobacco sales on the Mille Lacs Reservation correctly.

How does this affect me?

If you sell these products to the retail stores listed here, you must:


* *Have a Reservation Sales account with us*. If you do not, contact us at [email protected] or call 651-556-3035.
* *Report your sales* on Form CSR, "Cigarette Sales on Reservations", or Form TSR, "Tobacco Sales on Reservations", by the 18th of each month for prior month sales.
* *Use the correct Cigarette Tax stamps* on the cigarette packages.

How should I report sales from January through July 2022?

* *If you sold to the stores listed*, you must include those sales on Forms CSR or TSR when you file your return.
* *If you did not include these sales on Forms CSR or TSR*, you must file amended returns to report the sales made on the Mille Lacs Reservation on Forms CSR and TSR.

Continue to report sales made on the Mille Lacs Reservation on Forms CSR or TSR when you file future returns.
