Cllr Samuel Gardiner and others planting bulbs
Local councillors, community partners and residents planted spring bulbs at the top end of Bulwell Recreation Ground near to ALDI to commemorate those who lost their lives in the COVID pandemic. Councillors also have packs of forget me not’s for anyone who has lost a loved one to COVID for them to plant as a personal reminder.

Following an increase of thefts of Mobility Scooters and Bicycles in Bulwell, your local Councillors funded security marking tags and teamed up with the police to hold sessions at Rise Park shops, Top Valley Tesco and Bulwell marketplace for residents.
Thank you to all the residents who came along and talked to us about this and other issues.

Following the relaxation of Covid guidelines, your local councillors were delighted to finally meet onsite with the British Royal Legion Bulwell Branch at the new commemorative benches on Bulwell Recreation Ground which were installed in November 2021.
The members of the British Legion really welcome the new seating on Bulwell Forest Recreation Ground next to the new Aldi on Hucknall Road. The benches are really nice and look over to the old soldier hill. Local councillors and the Royal British Legion are pleased that residents have somewhere to sit and reflect.
This project will see work to the existing cycle lanes in our ward to create safer space for cyclists with a raised boundary ridge between the road and cycle path, similar to the layout outside of the City Hospital.
The council is investing in cycling infrastructure around the city, improving safety for our cyclists whether they are new to cycling or a regular rider.
The next phase will see the improvements made around Hucknall Road, between the Aldi and Bestwood Road.

The Jubilee bank holiday commenced with the Council House building lit up in purple and adorned with a jubilee crown made by a local company and paid for by local sponsorships. There was also a display of photographs of Queen Elizabeth’s visits to Nottingham.
Along with attending local street parties and several organisational events, councillors held a thank you event for key workers and organisations who stepped up to support the community and those residents who were shielding during lockdown. Those thanked included volunteers who helped with delivering food parcels, providing meals, collecting prescriptions, shopping, dog walking and so much more. The Jubilee beacon was also lit on Bulwell Bogs as part of a national chain of beacons all lit at the same time.
Councillors and community groups also held stalls at the Jubilee Market in Bulwell and Alex Norris MP held a tea party on the Bulwell Market with councillors in attendance.
