Last night, MSNBC broke alarming news that Attorney General Merrick
Garland has re-upped a Trump-era policy from then-AG William Barr stating,
as Rachel Maddow explained, "Nobody is allowed to investigate anybody
connected to a presidential candidate without his permission, personally,
as Attorney General."

The memo, titled "Election Year Sensitivities," includes the possibility
of delaying investigations of "politically sensitive individuals" until
after elections to avoid any appearance of partisan politics. But by using
the midterms to justify not investigating Trump’s obvious criminality, the
DOJ would be creating exactly that appearance.

This is especially serious since, as Rachel Maddow noted in her segment,
"Trump has responded to all the revelations about him and January 6 by
reportedly speeding up his declaration that he's going to be a candidate
again."

Merrick Garland can not allow midterm politics or individuals complicit in
Trump's coup to prevent his department from holding Trump accountable
under law. The January 6th committee has done its job to expose Trump's
seditious crimes, now it's time for Merrick Garland to do his.

[ [link removed] ]SIGN THE PETITION TO ATTORNEY GENERAL MERRICK GARLAND: Trump and EVERY
MEMBER of his criminal network of coup conspirators must be prosecuted for
lawbreaking. No one is above the law.

Over 100,000 people have already signed this petition and the PCCC will
hand-deliver it to the Department of Justice in the coming weeks.

Thanks for being a bold progressive.
