John,

As the rogue, right-wing Supreme Court majority continues its attacks on our personal freedoms and liberties, who knows what could be next.

Could it be birth control?

We can’t afford to wait and see. We have to fight back and we have to do so quickly.

That’s why I’m leading the fight for over-the-counter birth control medication.

More than 100 countries allow some forms of oral contraceptives to be sold over-the-counter, and it’s time we do the same. So as co-chair of the Pro-Choice Caucus, I’ve been urging the FDA to quickly approve an application that would make birth control medication available over-the-counter.

Our work is already showing signs of promise — the FDA just received an application from a pharmaceutical company for approval to make the first oral contraceptive available in the U.S. without a prescription.

This change didn’t happen overnight, and I’m counting on you to help continue sustaining our movement for progress.

Will you make a donation to help me keep up the fight for reproductive freedom in all its forms? Regardless of what else the Supreme Court has in store, we must ensure that the full slate of reproductive care is accessible no matter where you live.

If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately:

We must make clear that people, not politicians, have the right to make their own reproductive health care decisions: abortion access, birth control, family planning, and whatever relates to reproductive freedoms.

Access to over-the-counter birth control is a racial equity issue, a gender equity issue, and an economic equity issue.

In the same way that other methods of birth control are available over the counter, the pill should be too.

Thank you for standing with me in this fight.

In solidarity,

Barbara Lee
