President Biden: Declare a national climate emergency!
John,
The planet is burning before our eyes. Record high temperatures are occurring all over the globe! Wildfires are setting Alaska ablaze. The Western United States is facing its worst drought in 1,200 years. The climate emergency is NOW. Biden must act.
We’re hearing rumors that President Biden may declare a climate emergency this week. Some sources say Biden is going to make the announcement soon; others say he’ll hold off. But we need him to step up now and take urgent climate action. We can't wait. The planet can’t wait.

John,
Last month, the Supreme Court issued a dangerous decision in West Virginia v. Environmental Protection Agency: The Court curbed the EPA’s ability to regulate climate pollution from power plants under the Clean Air Act.
In its ruling, the radical conservative supermajority again ignored decades of precedent and embraced far-right ideology, drastically limiting federal agencies’ power to regulate as Congress intended. This opinion now joins a running list of decisions that have revoked constitutional rights and endangered public health and safety.
It’s time to fight back. As the radical Court continues to push corporate interests and eliminate vital tools in the fight against climate change, it’s time for President Biden to act. Biden has the power to declare a climate emergency today. He must do so.
We no longer have the luxury of time when it comes to fighting climate change. West Virginia v. Environmental Protection Agency underscores the urgent need for federal action. That’s why we’re gearing up and mobilizing across the country to demand the Biden administration use its authority to:
Declare a national climate emergency
Halt the approval of new fossil fuel projects
Stop fossil fuel exports
End fossil fuel leasing on federal lands
Launch a just, equitable renewable energy revolution
President Biden must do everything he can to prevent the Supreme Court from standing in the way of a liveable future. He can follow the science and use the Executive Branch tools at his disposal to fight for the communities most impacted by pollution and climate disasters. But he won’t unless he hears this message loud and clear: The era of fossil fuels is over and we need urgent climate action now!
