John, if you're like I am, then you believe in the idea that democracy depends on the concept of "one person, one vote."
You probably also believe the President should be the candidate who gets the most popular votes nationwide, because that’s one person, one vote. In fact, it would mean every single vote cast is equal no matter where you live.
The good news is the National Popular Vote bill has been passed by 15 states plus DC accounting for 196 electoral college votes. It will take effect nationwide once enacted by states with just 74 more electoral votes. Eight states, adding up to 75 more electoral votes, have already passed the bill through at least one legislative chamber and over 3,400 state legislators have endorsed the bill.
We’re so close to winning!
The problem is that Republicans know it too and they’re afraid. They know Donald Trump, and George W. Bush before him, LOST the national popular vote. So now, they’re fighting back.
That’s why opponents have already spent over a million dollars trying to repeal the National Popular Vote law that was passed by the Colorado legislature and signed by the Governor. Now they’re taking their case to the people in a statewide referendum and they’re willing to spend whatever it takes to mislead, confuse or outright lie to win.
We must fight back to defeat them in Colorado and stand together to win in 8 targeted states in 2020. Will you join the campaign by adding your name in support immediately?
You know, when it comes to making big change, there’s a pattern that happens almost every time. Gandhi described it best:
"First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win."
They’re finally fighting us and we will beat them, but only if we stand together, fight back, and never give up.
Let’s do this! Join the campaign by adding your name now.
