Dear members and allies,
On Monday, July 11, Senator Lydia Edwards filed an amendment to S.2989, the Transportation Bond Bill, that would create a low-income fare at the MBTA! A reduced fare for eligible riders will help struggling families make ends meet.
Please join us and Public Transit Public Good Coalition in letting your legislators know you support a low-income fare and Senator Edwards’ amendment, which is “lucky number 7!”
You can send an email to your legislator at the Public Transit Public Good website.
We need our officials to act! Beacon Hill must pass legislation creating a low-income fare program at the MBTA before the session ends in July. And outgoing Governor Baker must sign the program into law, not continue to obstruct affordability at the MBTA.
Thank you for standing with the riders and workers of the Public Transit Public Good Coalition! Visit PublicTransitPublicGood.org to learn more and get involved.
Sincerely,
Lee Matsueda
