John,

This past month, the Supreme Court has issued a deluge of conservative, far-right opinions that contradict the will of the American people.

How is this possible?

Five of the nine Justices on the Supreme Court were appointed by presidents who lost the popular vote. That means the current court is wholly un-democratic, and it’s only getting worse.

The reason that Republicans and conservative leaders can take on such anti-democratic and unpopular positions is because our democracy is broken.

Right now, it vastly over-represents the conservative minority on all levels of government.

It needs to change.

Power the Vote is working to build a groundbreaking voter protection strategy across the country. We are funding voter protection staff in key battleground states to ensure that every voter can make their voice heard. Our strategy worked in 2020, when Georgia flipped blue for the first time in nearly 30 years.

Georgia was never really a red state — but voters had been suppressed and discouraged and excluded systemically for so long. We think that’s true in other battleground states, as well.

This plan can work, but we need your help. So right now, please donate whatever you can to Power the Vote. Your contribution will go directly toward our fight to fix our democracy:

We Fund Voter Protection

In 2020, we ran the Democratic Party’s Voter Protection Program in Georgia, when the state flipped blue for the first time in nearly 30 years.

We pioneered a new model of voter protection, built on sustained investments and long-lasting relationships.

Now, we’re building on that success and adapting the Georgia model to fight voter suppression in other states.
