Dear John,

I imagine you likely saw the troubling news of an abrupt end to negotiations over the single largest investment by the United States to fight climate change. But we want to tell you it’s not over. This bill can still reach President Biden’s desk and put us on a path to reach his goal of reducing our climate pollution in half by 2030. To make it happen, we urgently need your help.

For years we’ve fought for the bold solutions necessary to tackle climate change now and protect our children and grandchildren. We can’t afford to give up when the stakes are so high and there is still an opportunity to reach an agreement on climate solutions.

All that’s missing is the political will to reach an agreement. Raise your voice and join the millions of Americans demanding immediate action on climate! [link removed]

President Biden, Majority Leader Schumer and Senator Manchin must come together to put us on a path toward a clean energy future that modernizes our economy, creates jobs, advances environmental justice and stabilizes the climate. Now it’s our job to hold them accountable to get the deal done.

Let me be clear. The climate investments being considered in Congress right now can put the U.S. on a path towards a clean energy future that modernizes our economy, creates jobs, advances environmental justice and stabilizes the climate. A path that will get more homegrown clean energy powering our homes and businesses. A path that will cut pollution in half by 2030 and curb the worst impacts of climate change.

But we need your help to forge that path. In the weeks to come EDF Action will work tirelessly to set the stage for bold climate investments, and we’ll look to you to help get them passed. [link removed]

Thank you for leading on climate,
