July means…Back to School?!We can hardly believe it ourselves, but here in Maricopa County, the Back-to-School Season is in full swing! Our amazing partners at AZTV are once again hosting their

Stuff the Bus Back-to-School Donation Drive . With a goal of distributing 2400 backpacks filled with school supplies, and supplies to stock another 40 teachers’ closets, it’s all hands on deck!
Join us throughout the month of July in sponsoring backpacks for children across the Valley! The culminating event will take place at Tempe Marketplace the week of July 25th. If you wish to volunteer to support the drive check out our

International Day of Friendship
Did you know that July 30th is the International Day of Friendship? Neither did we! But it is! And what better way to celebrate than by getting a group of friends together to volunteer in the community. There’s something about making a positive impact in society that brings people together in a very real, very human way. Here are some suggestions!
- Call up 2-3 friends to

make an evening meal for youth experiencing homelessness at HomeBase! Shifts are open 7 days a week, 4:30-6:30pm. You can catch a movie or grab a bite after – make a day of it!
- How great is ice cold water on a hot day? Freeze water bottles and bring them with you in your car to hand out to individuals as you commute. They’re a great conversation starter and an easy way to help out your fellow humans! Learn more about

Encouragement Cards – Make a child’s day with an encouragement card! We ask volunteers to hand-make simple and colorful cards of encouragement at home to mail to United Way. These cards are placed in our Pantry Packs, which are distributed through schools to families experiencing food insecurity across Maricopa County.

Virtual Notes to Child Care Providers – Show some love for those hard working preschool teachers, childcare directors, and at-home providers with a virtual note of thanks!
