John,
As governor, Stacey Abrams will expand Medicaid because it will do so much good for the people of Georgia. We’re counting on your support today so that, together, we can:
Georgia has spent four years under Brian Kemp, who insists on saying no to helping our own people.
Georgia is entitled to $3.5 billion each year from the federal government to expand Medicaid. But Kemp has said no to $3.5 billion that we already have that would have kept rural hospitals open.
No to $3.5 billion that would save Georgia billions on uncompensated care as people go to the hospital and cannot afford to pay the bill.
And he continues to say no, refusing to take action even as Georgia’s overreliance on travel nurses continues to drive up costs.
Already, 38 states — under Democratic and Republican leadership — have expanded Medicaid. Jan Brewer in Arizona did it, and so did John Kasich in Ohio. Even Mike Pence expanded Medicaid in Indiana. We don’t agree on much, but for these Republican governors and several more, expanding Medicaid is not a partisan issue. It was and is just the right thing to do.
Thanks for all you do,
Stacey Abrams HQ
