John, your vote only counts if your Secretary of State’s office counts it before certifying the results. We can do all the work we want getting out the vote for good candidates, but it might not count if election officials are corrupt. Which is why it’s important to remember that … Insurrectionists are still agitating to steal or overturn our elections. Some insurrectionists are campaigning to be Secretaries of State. The Secretaries of State elected this year will be the people deciding who wins the presidency in 2024. During the shocking Jan. 6th hearings, we found that Donald Trump, Mark Meadows, Ted Cruz, Josh Hawley and dozens of House members, state legislators, governors and other officials told the deadly lie that Donald Trump won the election enough times that it inspired people to commit acts of vandalism, violence and treason. Two of these individuals, de-programmed, as if from a cult, talked about why they attacked the Capitol on January 6th, 2020, why they were there, what they believed, and what they intended to do. And it all came down to one very simple fact: If they had not been lied to by Republicans day in and day out--the very Republicans who are still inciting riot every day by lying about this election--then January 6th would not have happened. A dozen or so House members were revealed to have met with Donald Trump to plan the coup, likely leading to criminal liability for them. Yet, some of them and various other GOP officials are now running for positions where they will have control of state election machinery. For example, one of these coup plotters, Jody Hice of Georgia, was running for Secretary of State (SoS) in a primary vs Republican Brad Raffensberger, who stood up to Trump's calls for stealing votes. |
