The Supreme Court declared that Michigan's heavily gerrymandered districts are legal -- even though those districts were carefully crafted to keep Republicans in power.
But Gretchen Whitmer isn't holding back:
"Michiganders deserve to have their voices heard and their votes counted. #Gerrymandering undermines the basic idea of open and free elections. It's disappointing that #SCOTUS has refused to review this unfair practice, despite other courts declaring it unconstitutional." -- Gretchen Whitmer
Even as Democrats like Gretchen have won statewide races by healthy margins, Republicans have kept control of the state legislature through these heavily gerrymandered districts.
These unfair districts mean there are more Republican elected officials with little incentive to work across party lines to do things like fix the roads and invest in public education. Instead, they've introduced extreme legislation restricting women's rights.
But we need you to weigh in John -- do you disagree with the Supreme Court's recent decision to keep gerrymandered districts in place?
