Like many Hoosiers, I am a responsible gun owner. I also served in the US Navy where I was taught to use my weapon responsibly and protect the lives of my fellow servicemen and women. 

And like the majority of Hoosiers, gun owners or otherwise, I know that the time for “thoughts and prayers” has come and gone. 

Every Hoosier knows that something is very, very wrong.

Every Hoosier knows that we need comprehensive gun safety measures passed into law.

Every Hoosier knows that innocent people’s lives are being taken.

Every Hoosier knows that we must take action now.

Yet, even when the latest mass shooting happens in his own backyard, Todd Young has nothing more to offer than his “thoughts and prayers”.

But I guess that's not too surprising considering that Todd Young is bought and paid for by the NRA and other special interest groups. Young has taken nearly $3 million dollars from the gun lobby. 

We cannot continue to offer our “thoughts and prayers”. The time for federal gun safety legislation is here and when I get to the United States Senate I will vote in favor of increased gun safety.
