Whilst the country swelters in record temperatures, wildfires sweep across Western Europe and scientists warn - again - of an impending climate catastrophe, Tory Party leadership contenders waiver over their commitment to net zero.

Rather than being a wake-up call to the Climate Emergency, the Government is dithering over its response to the heatwave, failing to prioritise action on climate change and, unbelievably, continuing to incentivise oil and gas production in the North Sea.

We need Green leaders that recognise the seriousness of the Climate Emergency, put people and planet before vested interests, and take the decisions and action necessary to curb the devastating consequences of climate breakdown.
