On July 27-28, our partner the Reagan Institute's Center for Civics, Education, and Opportunity (CCEO), will host the Reagan Institute Summit on Education (RISE), a two-day virtual and in-person summit to address the health of education in the United States.
This year's program theme is Networked: The Quest for Connectivity and will examine connectivity in its most literal sense, through broadband and infrastructure, as well as through the individual and systemic connections students need to thrive.
RISE 2022 will feature diverse perspectives on education and include leaders and key stakeholders in the education community, such as:
- Thursday's "Tomorrow's Teachers" panel with The Hunt Institute's President and CEO Dr. Javaid Siddiqi, CEO of TNTP Dr. Tequilla Brownie, and CEO of the National Math and Science Initiative Dr. Bernard A. Harris (moderated by our own Dr. Ashlee Louise Canty, Director of Equity Initiatives at The Hunt Institute)
- A conversation on civics education and civility with Supreme Court Justices Sonia Sotomayor and Amy Coney Barrett
- Fireside chats with Governor Eric Holcomb (R-IN) of Indiana, Governor Asa Hutchinson (R-AR) of Arkansas, and Governor Cox (R-UT) of Utah
- Remarks by Dr. Janet Tran, Director of CCEO; 9th United States Secretary of Education Arne Duncan; Assistant Secretary of the Department of Education Roberto Rodriguez; Dr. Tim Shriver, Chairman of the Special Olympics, and more!
