You Can Help Stop Trafficking – By Helping the Nation Plan for World Cup 2026

Events like the World Cup shine a light on the need for host countries and cities to do their part to prevent trafficking. Fixing the underlying systems that enable sex and labor trafficking begins with recognizing how many people in a World Cup city are vulnerable to trafficking already. It also calls us to recognize the relationship between hosting a major event in the city and the potential for increased trafficking. With the eyes of the world on the United States in 2026, there will be an opportunity to show leadership in preventing human trafficking. And YOU can be a part of that leadership! Thank you for making the abuses of human trafficking more visible, a step toward change.

A Call to Action for You: Contact Congress and Demand Equal Rights

"Domestic workers are the unheralded backbone of the American economy, the people whose contributions to individual households and families quite literally make it possible for countless other works to make their own economic contributions. Yet the system they labor under provides little or no support or protection against abuse, exploitation or trafficking." – Lillian Agbeyegbe, DrPH, CHES, CPH, Polaris Community Engagement Manager – Testimony at the D.C. Domestic Workers Bill of Rights Hearing
As a nation, we still don't offer domestic workers the respect, protection, or basic civil and labor rights afforded to virtually all other workforces. Find out how you can help pass the National Domestic Workers Bill of Rights and demand equal rights for ALL workers.

Another Way You Can Help: Protect Essential Foreign Workers From Labor Trafficking

Temporary work visas are supposed to be good for both workers and the U.S. economy. In theory, these visas allow U.S. businesses to fill mostly low-wage jobs that would otherwise sit vacant while giving migrant workers – who follow all the rules – an opportunity to earn more than they can in their home countries. We have developed a set of priority recommendations to increase transparency and accountability and more effectively protect workers on temporary visas.
