In yet another disastrous Supreme Court decision at the end of June, the conservative justices ruled that the Environmental Protection Agency cannot take critical action to limit carbon emissions and fight climate change.

Here in Wisconsin, our beautiful state is already feeling the effects of decades of inaction on the climate crisis.
Wisconsin’s average temperatures are about two degrees Fahrenheit warmer than in the 1950s, and they’re expected to go up. We’re experiencing more snowfall, even though our winter seasons are shorter. Extreme rains are becoming more common, and the interim dry spells will be disastrous for our farming communities.
Climate change is speeding up, but elected leaders have failed to act to protect our state and our planet. My career in the military and CIA gave me the opportunity to see much of this beautiful world, and I deeply believe that we have a duty to secure its future for the children of our nation and that of every nation.
