Biden's economy is steering us into recession <[link removed]> - If you're having trouble making it from paycheck to paycheck, you're hardly alone. A majority of Americans tell pollsters they feel the economy is not in good shape and getting worse. People are now demonstrably poorer than when President Joe Biden took office. Although wages have risen, prices have risen much faster. Heritage Expert: EJ Antoni <[link removed]>
Can Congress Limit the Ability of China (or other Foreign Nations) to Lobby U.S. Officials? Statutory and Constitutional Considerations <[link removed]> –  Since 1938, Congress has regulated lobbying on behalf of foreign governments by forcing their agents to identify themselves and disclose various items of information to the federal government. Unlike the publication of facts or opinions, however, the lobbying of Members of Congress or other federal, state, or local government officials occurs in places where the public cannot ordinarily go. Some nations are not allies of the United States, nor are they merely economic rivals; they wish America ill. It is time for a public debate on the question of whether Congress should close off attempts by agents of such governments to influence our public officials. A good constitutional case can be made that the U.S. should take this step. Heritage Experts: Zack Smith <[link removed]> and Thomas Jipping <[link removed]>

Celebrities say they'll leave US but curiously, they're still here... <[link removed]> - After the Supreme Court’s Dobbs decision, Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong told fans at a London concert
that he would renounce his citizenship. Don’t bet on it. Armstrong is no stranger to preening wokeness. He also "threatened" to leave the U.S. when President Trump was in charge, as did many other lefty celebs—Bryan Cranston, Samuel L. Jackson, Lena Dunham and Cher, to name but a few. Yet, curiously, they’re all still here. Heritage Expert: Simon Hankinson <[link removed]>

Ensuring That Only Citizens Vote in US Elections <[link removed]> – Requiring proof of citizenship of everyone registering to vote is not
discriminatory and would seem to be fully within the authority of states, but the Biden administration wants to prevent states from doing that. As Brnovich correctly says <[link removed]>, “You don’t need to be a rocket scientist or even an astronaut to figure out what’s going on here with the Biden administration.” It has opened <[link removed]> up the
borders to get as many aliens flooding into the country as possible while at the same time litigating to prevent any state from ensuring that individuals who vote are actually U.S. citizens.  Apparently, the administration is willing to do almost anything <[link removed]> to win elections and stay in power, even if it means making it easy <[link removed]> for aliens to cast ballots without being caught, devaluing and diluting the voting rights of
American citizens. Heritage Expert: Hans von Spakovsky <[link removed]>

Grace in the cause of victory <[link removed]> - My colleague at The Heritage Foundation, historian and co-founder of the Victims of Communism Memorial Foundation, Lee Edwards,
remarked in a column last year that in the United States, opposition to Confucius Institutes has managed to unite left and right. That is no small feat. It is a spirt of grace Americans must nurture, not just as it applies to fighting Chinese influence on American college campuses, but in the broader intergenerational struggle with China that is now underway. HASC Moves to Replenish Munitions—But More Remains to Be Done <[link removed]> –
The bill’s language <[link removed]> includes mention of “talent exchanges with the private sector,” pilot programs to track the health and security of sub-tier suppliers, and a Federally Funded Research and Development
Center to assess the department’s ability to replenish key types of munitions. These are all good moves, but what is really needed is more focus—and more spending— on munitions by the Pentagon and, ultimately, Congress. Ukraine has shown us that a strong industrial base is still critical in warfare. The HASC has made a strong step in the right direction, but much more will be required beyond a recovery effort that aims simply to restore munitions stockpiles to inadequate pre-aid levels. Congressional leaders should continue to push for visibility into munitions stockages and purchases, and the services should start prioritizing munitions in their annual budgets. U.S. military preparedness depends on it. Heritage Expert: Maiya Clark <[link removed]>
