Friend,

We just confirmed that a provision of the HR 1808 "assault weapons" ban would massively increase the ATF's power.

That's because this legislation would also ban:

“Any part, combination of parts, component, device, attachment, or accessory that is designed or functions to accelerate the rate of fire of a semiautomatic firearm but not convert the semiautomatic firearm into a machinegun."

This would not only ban common aftermarket parts like triggers and bolt carrier groups, but virtually anything that can increase rate of fire.

STOP THIS INSANITY RIGHT NOW! <[link removed]>

Does that mean that belt loops on pants, rubber bands or perhaps even human fingers could be outlawed? Paging Jerry Miculek...

But that's not even in the most insidious part. That's because HR 1808 is ambiguous, giving the ATF wide latitude to push more regulations.

What's more, doing custom work like smoothing out a trigger or polishing a BCG could land you in hot water with the ATF.

We thought this legislation was bad enough after it came to light that it could potentially be used to ban .22s in addition to everything else.

TAKE ACTION: STOP HR 1808 TODAY! <[link removed]>

But every time we take another look at HR 1808, it just seems to appear more draconian than at first blush.

Indeed, to recap, the current text of this outrageous legislation would:

- BAN nearly all ARs

- BAN nearly all AKs

- BAN many semiauto shotguns

- BAN many semiauto handguns

- BAN virtually all AR pistols

- BAN millions of .22LR handguns

- BAN aftermarket parts like triggers

- Bans many pistol-caliber carbines by name

- And even BAN standard-capacity magazines

Indeed, because this legislation creates a federal ban on regular mags, people living in states like CA, NY, etc. could make simple possession an additional federal crime in those jurisdictions.

With a bill this insane, you would think that nobody in their right mind would support it, but 212 members in the House already have.

And in just over 48 hours, a House committee will hear this legislation, potentially making it EVEN WORSE!

Friend, this markup meeting is the first of its kind in over TWO DECADES! And it could result in HR 1808 being sent to the floor.
