I will not let our government get away with telling families we don't have the money for healthcare or desperately needed social safety net programs while spending billions and billions on defense authorizations.
That’s why – although I support the positive reforms, including three amendments I sponsored to ease the burden on indebted countries like Ukraine – I could not in good conscience vote for the unprecedented $839.3 billion defense bill.
In Congress, I will never stop making the hard choices or fighting to put you first. Help me continue to work for you.
