Since my reelection campaign announcement in June, my team and I have been hard at work reaching voters across Chicago. Every bit of support we get makes a difference in this race — especially given the high-dollar donors backing my opponents.
It's hard work, but it's also been a gift to connect with folks all over Chicago — to hear about their struggles, triumphs, and the future they want. Together, we can build on the progress we've made over the last three years and create a Chicago that works for ALL of us.
Below are some of the highlights from the last month:
🌈 My wife Amy and I walked in the Chicago Pride Parade, which was an incredible celebration of our city’s diversity. I will continue to stand up for Chicago's LGBTQ community and fight for equality for all.
🌹 I handed out roses at the Roseland Peace Parade top stand with the community against gun violence. We MUST keep up the fight for common-sense gun safety laws to keep our neighborhoods safe.
🌮 I ate, danced, and chatted with visitors when we brought the Taste of Chicago — the biggest food festival in the world — to local neighborhoods in Chicago. The pandemic was incredibly difficult for our city's restaurants, and I'm proud of the work we did to help them through it
💪🏾 I made appearances on CNN and CBS Mornings to talk about what we're doing in Chicago to protect reproductive freedom and abortion access — especially for folks coming out of state. Under my leadership, Chicago will remain a safe haven for women across the country.
🏀 I attended the WNBA All-Star game right here in Chicago and watched some world-class hoops. Sky town!
The success and legacy of Chicago are deeply personal to me. I know the potential of our city, and I know that with you on my team, we can see it fully realized.
