Folks —
Two pieces of life-saving legislation passed the House last week – my bill, the Women’s Health Protection Act , and the Ensuring Access to Abortion Act .
We should be celebrating, but these bills still have to make it through the Senate before becoming law, and with Mitch McConnell and the filibuster standing in our way, passing them is going to be extremely tough.
But I’m not going to give up. We can’t give up. Getting these bills to President Biden’s desk means ensuring that millions of women across the country have safe and secure access to basic health care — something that should have never been up for debate in the first place.
Women, and even children , are being put into horrific situations due to a lack of reproductive health care services in anti-abortion states. Seeing this motivated me to introduce the Freedom to Travel for Health Care Act in the Senate because no one should have to worry about being prosecuted for traveling to receive reproductive care in a pro-choice state.
However, this bill has the same major obstacle as the previous two — the filibuster .
These pieces of legislation are going to save lives, and by not passing them, we’re leaving millions of women with little to no options in making personal decisions regarding their body and their future.
I’m going to fight my heart out to get these bills passed, and by adding your voice, you’ll help show the surging support for this much-needed filibuster reform. Sign on today to join me in demanding the Senate eliminate the filibuster so we can pass critical legislation to protect reproductive rights. [[link removed]]

Senate Republicans are using the filibuster to safeguard their extreme and unpopular beliefs. It’s undemocratic, and undermines the progress that the majority of Americans support.
I won’t stop fighting until reproductive rights are restored and protected. Thank you for taking action with me.
