ARC and Per Scholas will be featured in this NFL Inspire Change event on workforce development on July 25

On Monday, July 25, 2022 from 12:00 – 1:00 PM Eastern, join the National Football League, the Anti-Recidivism Coalition, and Per Scholas for a virtual conversation: NFL Presents: Advancing a More Equitable Workforce ([link removed]) , hosted by Inspire Change, the NFL’s social justice platform focused on reducing barriers to opportunity.

Building a more equitable workforce begins with providing access and opportunity for people who have traditionally been overlooked and excluded. People of color, women, and other underrepresented groups, including formerly incarcerated individuals, face significant barriers in entering and advancing in the workforce—including systemic bias and access to technology, learning opportunities, and professional connections.

Inspire Change partners the Anti-Recidivism Coalition (ARC) and Per Scholas are working to break down these barriers for formerly incarcerated individuals and individuals seeking careers in tech, respectively. By providing access to specialized training and education, soft skills development, job opportunities, and connections to employer networks, ARC and Per Scholas are opening doors to opportunity and advancing equity in our workforce. As organizations and companies across the country focus on increasing diversity, equity and inclusion, our speakers will highlight the successes of their training and career readiness programs, reflect on the challenges to achieving greater progress, and share what employers and communities can do to build a more inclusive and equitable workforce.

ABOUT THE ANTI-RECIDIVISM COALITION

The Anti-Recidivism Coalition (ARC) works to end mass incarceration in California. To ensure our communities are safe, healthy, and whole, ARC empowers formerly and currently incarcerated people to thrive by providing a support network, comprehensive reentry services, and opportunities to advocate for policy change. Since 2020, the NFL’s Inspire Change initiative has supported ARC’s reentry services for more than 2,500 formerly incarcerated ARC members; rehabilitative and mentorship programs for men, women and youth in California prisons through the Hope and Redemption Team (HART); ARC’s Pre-Apprenticeship program, which has placed more than 250 formerly incarcerated ARC Members into union jobs (including 50 ARC Members who helped build SoFi Stadium); advocacy initiatives that reduce contact with the justice system and improve reentry outcomes; and computer labs at ARC’s Youth Housing, Pre-Apprenticeship Training Sites, and ARC’s main office in Los Angeles to help bridge
the digital divide.

For 27 years, Per Scholas has been advancing economic mobility and racial equity through rigorous training, professional development, and robust employer connections that enable individuals from all backgrounds to launch high-growth careers in technology. With campuses in 18 cities, Per Scholas has trained more than 16,000 individuals in tech skills at no cost to learners, building bridges to high-demand employment opportunities in the industry after graduation.
