John, we want to make sure you saw this headline following last week’s news that Joe Manchin said he wouldn’t support any new federal climate spending:

This is a failure of Democratic party leadership. And I want to make sure President Biden and his administration hear this message loud and clear: They must do everything in their power to address the climate crisis. Inaction is not acceptable.

Biden’s administration must create a response across all agencies of the government at every level, to do everything in their power to address the climate crisis. If they fail to take action, they risk losing the support of the American people, and young people in particular, forever. Young people voted for Biden to act on the climate promises he made during his campaign. It’s been almost two years since Biden took office and he has not followed through.

President Biden can still take strides to avert the worst of the climate crisis. That’s why we demand he uses his executive authority to do everything he can to create a just transition to 100% renewable energy by 2030.
