Friends,

Ted Cruz just went on record saying he believes the Supreme Court was “clearly wrong” when it recognized the right of marriage equality in 2015.

We cannot allow the far-right to overturn Obergefell and take this hard-won right away from LGBTQ+ Americans. That’s why today I introduced the Respect for Marriage Act to codify marriage equality into law.

We’ve come so far in the fight for LGBTQ+ equality, but allowing Republicans to take away this key right would be a major step backward. We all deserve the same dignity and respect — no matter who we love.

As Chair of the Equality Caucus, this bill is a top priority of mine. But I want to hear from you, friends. Can you let me know if you support the Respect for Marriage Act in this one-click poll:

As LGBTQ+ Americans continue to face discrimination and violence, the last thing our government should be doing is taking away our rights.

Sincerely,

David
