It’s an old adage that unfortunately rings very true in the world of politics.
Pundits look at fundraising numbers like sports stats as an indication of how popular a candidate or campaign is – and how much support there is for their ideas. Right now, among the entire House of Representatives (Democrats and Republicans), AOC is in 11th place.1
While most of the campaigns ahead of us accept corporate money, Alexandria refuses to take special interest money and relies exclusively on grassroots donations. We're still the #1 small-dollar funded campaign is a testament to our movement’s strength and it’s truly only possible thanks to all of you.
We’re asking for your help to keep Alexandria as a top fundraiser so that we not only have the resources to carry out our plans, but also to help our priorities and policies get the legitimacy they deserve.
If we had our way, we’d have public financing of campaigns and not have to raise millions of dollars to defend against dark money attacks.
If money talks, then we want our money to come from bartenders and teachers and nurses, not corporate CEOs. And we want to raise as much as we can to show our strength and have the resources to build our movement as big as possible.
