“Majority disapproves of ruling overturning Roe v. Wade”

Frankly, this headline doesn’t surprise me and I’ll tell you why.
|
|
There’s been steady support for Roe v. Wade and access to safe, legal abortion for decades. An overwhelming majority of New Jerseyans support reproductive freedom.
|
|
But that’s the thing -- this has never been about what Americans want. The rollback of reproductive rights has and always will be about what a small group of anti-choice extremists want.
|
|
The Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe comes at the expense of tens of millions of women who are now at risk of not having access to the care they need when they need it.
|
|
And while there are states like New Jersey that have protections for reproductive rights, that’s not the case everywhere. And if Mitch McConnell and Washington Republicans have it their way, they’ll ban abortion in all 50 states.
|
|
That’s why we need to act. Now.
|
|
I voted for a bill that would codify Roe into law and restore reproductive rights across the country. Now, the Senate must act.
