It’s hard to believe it’s been almost a year since this incredible moment:

It all started when Cori took a chair to the Capitol steps by herself. She logged into Facebook Live and announced that she would sleep outside the Capitol until President Biden or Congress extended the eviction moratorium to keep people in their homes.
It worked. Dozens, then hundreds joined in. The White House caved and the CDC extended the order.
Cori’s fearless leadership moved mountains, and everyone saw it.
AOC described it as “Servant leadership in action.”
Chuck Schumer said Cori “gave voice to millions. ”
Journalist Mehdi Hasan wrote on Twitter: “When you elect people like Cori Bush to Congress, who come from a very different background to most other members of Congress, you get very different tactics – and very different results.”

Since arriving in Congress roughly 18 months ago, Cori has championed over 300 pieces of legislation. She’s proven to be an incredibly effective policymaker, both calling out and calling in her critics to create space for unlikely allies to get things done in Washington.
Recently, Cori led a push to send Biden $100 million in funding for clean energy through the Defense Production Act. It passed.
We’ve said it before: Leadership requires action , and there are very few leaders like Cori.
But not everyone is a fan. Former congressman Lacy Clay, whose 50-year family dynasty Cori defeated in 2020, recently threw his support behind one of the four men running against her.
