| Friend Do you know why I first decided to run for public office?When I was young, I lived in a house in the mountains of western North Carolina with no electricity and no running water. My family had to work hard for everything we had, and if we didn't put in the tough work then we would not have gotten by. Those are the values this country was founded on and the values that made us the greatest nation God has ever created. I could not stand by and watch as the left attacked those fundamental principles and continue to do all they can to change the very fabric of our nation. During these times of hardship, we need to stand together and recommit ourselves to those crucial values.
Since the day I was first elected to Congress, I have worked tirelessly to be a voice for everyday Americans like you who love their country, and I will NEVER stop fighting for our freedom! Before being elected to Congress, I spent ten years in the North Carolina Senate, where I voted against tax increases repeatedly. While in Congress, I have had multiple bills signed into law. The first bill I ever had signed into law was the HERO Act under President George W. Bush in 2006. This bill helped increase U.S. troops’ retirement savings in individual retirement accounts. Our troops fight for us- I will always fight for them!
It has been an honor to serve the people of North Carolina during my tenure in Congress, and I hope to have the opportunity to continue that service after this year’s general election. To continue this journey, I ask that you stand by my side as I fight the good fight. Will you please chip in $10, $15, or $25 to help me continue to get your voices heard in the halls of Congress?
