Hi John, It’s been a while since you heard from me and believe it or not, breaking down a campaign takes more time and effort than one could ever anticipate. Advisors also advised me to take time to rest and to grieve the last election. When the results were finalized, I burst into tears. We received +25,000 votes. We raised +$700,000 from more than 11,000 donors like you. We truly built a movement. And I was crying because I was so unbelievably honored. With movement work, you have to keep going... As I’ve been diving back into the community, I find people hollering at me from their cars, coming up to me in stores, shouting at me when I’m walking my dog, giving me a hug at protests, saying things like any election, Alexandra! You have my vote in any election and Ohmygosh, I voted for you!! and When are we running again??? These are people from all over Philadelphia—all different neighborhoods, all different backgrounds, ages, income levels and experiences—and they all support our movement. I was at a fundraiser the other night and a young man from North Philly came up to me, shook my hand, and said, I voted for you. You were talking to the people who live in the shadows. We heard you. You can’t stop now. He's right. We can’t stop now. Our bodies, our rights, our democracy, our planet, our future are on the line. The time is now to fight harder than we’ve ever fought before against the right wing forces that are seeking to end elections, silence our voices, and rob us of a bright, hopeful future. I am starting to explore running for office again (I haven’t decided which office yet), and I need to know that I can count on your support.
