JOHN,

Because of the shocking Supreme Court decision reversing Roe v. Wade last month, it is essential that every candidate running for office state his or her position on the subject of reproductive freedom and a woman’s right to choose. I believe that government has no business interfering with a woman’s health care choices, including any choice that she may make regarding abortion. Therefore, I pledge to codify the protections of Roe into federal law to provide again the protections and rights which the Supreme Court stripped away.

The Supreme Court had no business changing the law which was in place for over one-fifth of the life of our republic. On Fourth Amendment grounds and on Ninth Amendment grounds, Roe v. Wade was a decision that should have been affirmed.

I fully support and would have voted for the Women’s Health Protection Act of 2022 and the Ensuring Access to Abortion Act. Furthermore, if elected, I would support and vote for repealing the HYDE Amendment, which bars the use of federal funding to pay for abortions that are non-life threatening.

The Supreme Court has given the green light to states that want to completely outlaw abortion, even in the case of incest and rape. In doing so, it itself has become radicalized and taken a position opposed by the vast majority of Americans.

I intend to represent and serve the 10th District. In doing so, I promise to fight for and defend a woman’s right to choose and the privacy that all Americans are guaranteed under the Constitution.

I hope that I can earn your vote for the August 2nd Primary and I look forward to working on behalf of this community that I’ve proudly served my entire life.
