[1]Cori Bush

John,

Since Cori first joined Congress, our movement for people-powered,
progressive change has grown tremendously. Thanks to the power of
grassroots donations of $5 and $10, we took on the establishment and sent
a single mother, nurse, activist, and organizer to Congress.

Now we're counting on this movement to keep her there, so we have a favor
to ask:

[ [link removed] ]Will you chip in $5 or anything you can right now to help
power Cori's re-election campaign? We're going up against four Democrats
in our August primary, and establishment groups are readying to spend
millions to attack us.

John, as an
integral member of this team, here are 10 things we want you to know about
Cori:

 1. Cori understands the issues everyday folks are going through
personally. Cori was evicted and lived out of her car with her babies.
These experiences are why she has been focused on policies that make
life better for everyone, especially regular, everyday Americans
without millions of dollars in their bank account.

 2. Cori is striving to create a new kind of politics rooted in love and
compassion because Cori cares that everyone is housed, fed, safe, and
has health care and an education.

 3. Only days after joining Congress, white supremacists incited a deadly
insurrection on our Capitol. Cori introduced her first-ever piece of
legislation calling for the expulsion of Republican insurrectionists
from office.

 4. In her first term in Congress, Cori has introduced over 25 pieces of
legislation including the Green New Deal for Cities, the Keeping
Renters Safe Act, and the People's Response Act.

 5. When the eviction moratorium was set to expire last summer, Cori
jumped into action to organize a five-day action outside of the
Capitol to demand the Biden Administration extend the eviction
moratorium.

 6. Cori proudly delivered over $1 billion to organizations saving lives
across the St. Louis community. This funding is yet another victory
for St. Louis and brings us closer to a more just and equitable St.
Louis for all.

 7. Cori's not afraid to share her story for the greater good. Cori was
one of the first sitting members of Congress to share her abortion
story in an effort to resist the GOP's attempts to restrict abortion
access in America.

 8. Cori doesn't accept a cent of corporate PAC money, but that's not how
all of Congress operates. Most members fund their re-elections through
special interest donations — from the pharmaceutical industry,
military contractors, even the gun lobby — and spend hours on the
phone calling up their wealthy friends.

 9. Cori's running for re-election because we still have more work to do.
Together we can keep making real progress on racial justice,
addressing the climate crisis, and ensuring everyone is guaranteed
quality health care.

10. Super PACs and establishment groups are prepared to spend record
amounts of money to attack Cori during the midterm elections. We'll
need the support of this grassroots team to defend Cori and fight
back.

[ [link removed] ]Please, if you're with Cori in our movement for economic,
environmental, and racial justice, will you chip in $5
right now to help keep Cori in Congress legislating and organizing for
bold, progressive change?

In solidarity,

Team Cori
