Today, I am unveiling the first ad of my campaign. And it is a personal one.
Several years ago I was faced with the choice that many women face. I was in the first trimester of pregnancy, but due to a rare immune disorder, I became incredibly ill. I was bedridden and had young children that I was too sick to care for. When the doctors finally found the medication I needed, they told me it had a high risk of causing serious health effects for the fetus I was carrying.
For the well being of our family, my husband and I made the decision to have an abortion. We made the healthcare decision that was right for our family.

A generation marched in the streets for the rights that I grew up with. The rights to a healthcare choice that I exercised. And I refuse to accept that the next generation will not be afforded those same constitutional rights.
Reproductive rights are on the ballot this fall and my Republican opponent is as anti-choice as they come in New York. Will you donate today to get this ad up on TV and show the people of NY-19 I will fight for a woman's right to choose in Congress? [[link removed]]
