John,

Last week, the Justice Department launched a Reproductive Rights Taskforce to monitor state and local abortion legislation that would infringe a person’s access to reproductive healthcare.

"The Court abandoned 50 years of precedent and took away the constitutional right to abortion, preventing women all over the country from being able to make critical decisions about our bodies, our health, and our futures. The Justice Department is committed to protecting access to reproductive services.” – Associate Attorney General Vanita Gupta.

While this is a step in the right direction, it’s not enough. We must enshrine Roe into federal law, and in order for that to happen, we need to maintain pro-choice Democratic majorities in both the House and Senate.

Rush $25 to the 1973 Action Fund today to support pro-choice Democrats who will defend abortion access >>

Since FiveThirtyEight’s midterm forecast predicted Republicans taking House control and the Senate being a tossup, the ball is in anyone’s court. There’s no time to spare between now and Election Day helping Democrats mobilize as many voters as possible to the ballot box.

With the future of reproductive healthcare in the air, we have to do everything we can to ensure pro-choice wins – and that starts by electing pro-choice Democrats into office.

In order to make safe abortion access legal across the country again, please consider donating $25 or more to the 1973 Action Fund today.
