Hi friend –

That's me and my sister, Cynthia – back when our days were made up of weekend camping trips, savoring our mom's homemade meatballs and, for me at least, begging my dad to buy me a dirt bike. As a kid, I never could have imagined I’d become the first Latina Senator in the United States.

But these days, I'm more focused on my work for Nevada, and that means winning this toss-up Senate race to protect our Democratic majority. Can you help me win by chipping in a donation?

My family didn't come from money, but as kids we didn’t have much to worry about. Our parents worked hard to build a better life for Cynthia and me.

Fast forward to today, and there's a lot more on my mind than dirt bikes (though Dad eventually caved and got me one): I'm in the biggest toss-up Senate race in America – where keeping our Democratic Senate majority is at stake. In fact, CNN just named my Senate race the GOP’s best opportunity to flip a Senate seat and regain control, and polling shows my Republican opponent 1 point ahead.

Thankfully, I still have my wonderful and supportive sister by my side every step of the way (thanks, Cynthia!). I have the support of an incredible husband. And friend, I have you and this amazing grassroots team.

So today, I'm following the advice my dad gave my sister and me: never be afraid to ask for help. Friend, Mitch McConnell and his super PAC are spending $18 million on attack ads to defeat me, and I simply will not have the resources to fight back if we fall short of tonight’s goal. So will you please make a donation of $5 or whatever you can spare to keep Nevada's Senate seat blue and defend our Democratic Senate majority?
