John – My military service has shaped who I am, and I carry those values with me every day.
In the Marines, I quickly learned that the worst thing a person can do is leave someone behind in a fight. I was expected to carry my own weight and watch my fellow Marines’ backs. And while we didn’t always see eye to eye, when it came down to it, we knew we had one common mission – and that the only way we would be successful was to work together.
I strive to bring that same spirit to Congress today.
During my first campaign, I made a promise to put politics aside and work with anyone – Democrat, Republican, or Independent – to make things better for folks back at home. But Washington politicians prioritize special interests and themselves, not us. They vote to help whoever writes them the biggest campaign check, while hard-working families struggle to make ends meet.
The people of Maine’s Second District deserve to know that when the powerful special interests come knocking, your representative has your back.
