This is a dangerous time for our democracy. Robert Mueller’s testimony today confirms what the House should already know: It’s time to begin impeachment proceedings against the president.

The president’s claims of a “witch hunt” are his way of hiding the facts and House Democrats have a duty to lead regardless of whether or not it’s politically advantageous. They have their job as elected officials and we have ours – to win a Democratic majority in the U.S. Senate.

The president has not been exonerated from obstruction of justice and he’s publicly stated that he would use foreign interference in his campaign to attack an opponent, again. Even three years later, he still disputes the election results.

Trump’s racism, sexism, and xenophobia are all stains on the office of the president and despite House Democrats vowing to hold him accountable in the 2018 midterms once they had the majority, impeachment proceedings have yet to happen. We can’t delay justice, and we can’t delay action to win this race.

I’m not afraid to tell Georgia and the country that impeachment hearings must begin now, but without a Senate majority, Democrats can’t hold the president accountable.
