I have just a few moments in between campaign stops today, and wanted to send a note to our top supporters. It’s surreal to think that it’s been 250 days since we launched our campaign.

From the moment I announced I was running for Congress, I’ve pledged to fight for working families in Upstate New York and bring good-paying jobs and opportunities back to neighborhoods like the one I grew up in.

And we’ve been through a lot since then, including our district lines changing (twice!).

But, John, my guiding principles, bold vision for our future, and commitment to Upstate New York have never changed.

John, this is a campaign by working people, for working people. I’m so grateful for your support over the past 250 days. Now, the primary election is just over 5 weeks away. This moment is what we’ve been preparing for. If you’re with us 100% until the very end, will you chip in $5, $10, or more right now to help us finish these final weeks strong?

I’ve been reflecting on why I chose to run for Congress in the first place. It all comes back to my roots in this community and the way I was raised. My great-grandfather came to the United States in the 1800s in search of opportunity, and he found it. The generations before me found good, blue-collar jobs working at the Endicott-Johnson Shoe Company and the IBM factories. These jobs offered workers dignity and the opportunity to build something greater for future generations.

Unfortunately, today, these opportunities are slipping away for too many working families. Folks have been sold out and had their jobs shipped overseas by greedy corporations and self-serving politicians. Upstate New Yorkers deserve a representative who will work for them, not the special interests that line politicians’ pockets and fund their campaigns.

It’s why I’m in this fight and why I’ve refused to take any corporate PAC money. Our campaign is funded by grassroots supporters like you, and I’m incredibly grateful.

I can’t wait for the road ahead. We’ve already visited all 11 counties in the district multiple times. I’ve enjoyed getting to know so many incredible people in our community, and I can’t wait for the opportunity to connect with even more. And I’m honored to have received endorsements from every single County Democratic Committee that has endorsed in this race.
