$375 average donation is not “grassroots.”

Folks – My opponent, a former lobbyist, spends a lot of time on social media touting his “grassroots” supporters. But the numbers don’t lie, and we’ve got receipts.

After poring over the Q2 FEC filings, here’s what we know about Rick’s money:

  • Larsen’s donors are a gallery of corporate PACs, lobbyists, consultants, and business interests including Wal-Mart, Boeing, and Raytheon. In fact, over HALF his funding comes from PACs.

  • This quarter Larsen got big checks from AIPAC and DMFI, two pro-Israel / anti-Palestinian-rights lobbying groups that heavily fund candidates running against people who criticize the far right government of Israel. AIPAC is also responsible for funding dozens of pro-Trump, insurrectionist Republicans.

  • Only 3% of Larsen’s funding comes from small dollar donors, which is clearly reflected in his $375 average contribution.

  • Corporate executives and lobbyists account for at least 40% of his individual contributions.

The majority of our contributions come from right here in Washington, and 75% of our contributions are small dollar donors.

Our average donation is just $22. Can you pitch in to a true grassroots campaign today to keep our momentum going strong?

We’ve brought in nearly 7,000 individual contributions this cycle, proving that our campaign truly is people-powered.

This isn’t rhetoric to me, this is about people having trust in their representative to work for THEIR interests, not corporations and billionaires. It matters where your representative gets their money.

I don’t take a dime from corporate PACs or lobbyists, and I never will because I believe corporate cash is killing our democracy.

And our truly-grassroots machine is POWERFUL. We’ve raised more money in this race than every other challenger for WA-02 combined.

None of the Republicans running for this seat comes close to our fundraising, volunteer base, or voter outreach. And we’ve raised more money than any progressive challenger in this district in history.

Now, we have to grow.

When we win the August primary (and we’re going to win), we will face Rick Larsen in the general election. That’s when his $700,000 warchest fueled by corporate PACs, billionaires, and apologists for human rights abusers will come for us.

July is on track to be our strongest fundraising month yet, and I am so grateful to everyone who has contributed. But we need to start expanding NOW so we can hit the ground running immediately after the primary ballots are certified.

Today I’m asking you to invest in this campaign by becoming a monthly contributor. If everyone who gave $10, $15, or $22 to our campaign made that contribution monthly, we’d be operating on a whole new level.

By helping me build a stable budget, we can expand our team, reach more voters, and even start saving up for TV ads before November.

So if you’re in a position to do so, would you consider becoming a monthly donor today?

The working people of this district deserve a representative who understands their struggles, supports their progressive values and will FIGHT for them. I’ve been an activist and organizer for 30 years. I spent decades as a public high school teacher and a union leader.

As a working class dad, I know what’s at stake for working families here in Northwest Washington, and I will fight for us.

I’m ready to show the world just how powerful a people-centered movement can be.

You’re a part of that movement, folks. By reading these emails, sharing our posts on social media, contributing to the campaign, and (if you’re in the district) committing to vote for a representative who is unbought and unbossed, you are redefining what is possible.

That’s a beautiful place to be, and I’m grateful to have you by my side.

Let’s go win this election.

Solidarity,

Jason Call
