Highest Inflation in Over Forty Years

The Consumer Price Index reached 9.1% in June, which was even higher than expected. Inflation has now reached the highest rate in 41 years and is costing American families $6,800 in annual wages. This means the Biden administration’s bad policies are making it more difficult to buy food, gas, and other important necessities. This is unacceptable. How much more must Americans suffer at the expense of President Biden’s reckless and dangerous policies?

This week, I joined Congresswoman Elise Stefanik and Congressman Jason Smith in introducing the REIN IN Inflation Act. This legislation will hold the Biden Administration accountable for unleashing record inflation and making life unaffordable. Supporting Our Troops

On Thursday, the House voted to help fulfill its responsibility to support our troops and provide for a strong national defense. This year’s National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) includes a well-deserved pay raise for our troops and reverses President Biden’s reckless cuts to military construction while also providing funding to counter the growing threat of China. Today and every day I am proud to support the brave men and women of the U.S. military.

Protecting the Sanctity of Human Life

On Friday, I voted against two radical abortion bills forced through by the House Democrats. These dangerous bills would legalize abortion for all nine months of pregnancy across the country while undermining the health and safety of women. Today and every day I will stand up to protect the lives of the unborn.

This week, I had the opportunity to talk about my experiences serving the Tenth District and as Republican Leader of the House Financial Services Committee with of some of the congressional interns working in Washington, D.C. this summer, including some from right here in the Tenth District. Hershel 'Woody' Williams, WWII Medal of Honor recipient, lies in honor at US Capitol

This week, U.S. Marine Corps Warrant Officer 4 Hershel “Woody” Williams laid in honor inside of the U.S. Capitol's rotunda. He was the last living World War II-era veteran to receive the Medal of Honor. He earned that honor for his remarkable bravery during the battle of Iwo Jima. Please join me in recognizing Woody and all of our veterans for their incredible service and sacrifice.
