[1]Cheri Beasley for North Carolina

In my first election, my opponent said I wouldn’t be able to mount a successful candidacy as a young mom.

So I proved them wrong. I grabbed the diaper bag and a stroller to go door-to-door with my twin boys, and I won — by over 30 points.

Yet still, we face pundits and naysayers who doubt us. Some have said that flipping North Carolina’s Senate seat and becoming the third African American woman to serve in the U.S. Senate — and the first African American senator from North Carolina — will be too difficult.

But I’m no stranger to tough fights, and I don’t back down from a challenge.

If you're ready to expand our Senate majority, can you make a donation to our campaign? It’s going to take a historic grassroots effort, but I know that we have what it takes to win.

It’s time for us to try something new in North Carolina. That’s why this campaign has thrown out the old, failed playbook.

The obstacles are real when you’re challenging the conventional wisdom to do something new, but I’ve won statewide twice before and know what it takes to win this race too.

But it is going to take all of us. No candidate can win a race like this on their own, so my hope is you can answer the call at this important moment for our campaign.

So I need to ask you, please:

If you can afford it, please make a donation to our campaign to flip North Carolina’s Senate seat. Every donation matters in a race as competitive as this one.

I’m grateful to everyone that’s taken this leap of faith with us. I am confident that we will accomplish incredible things when we win this race and expand our majority — together.
