The Biden Administration isn’t happy with the Supreme Court’s recent decision affirming the rights of unborn children. As if slandering a life-saving SCOTUS ruling wasn’t bad enough, the Department of Health and Human Services is now attempting to force pharmacists to fill prescriptions for the purpose of inducing an elective abortion.

Biden and his cronies are trying to circumvent the constitution by inserting bureaucrats into the pharmacist-patient relationship and forcing those health care professionals to induce chemical abortions via abortifacients.

For over thirty years, I had the honor and privilege of serving as a community pharmacist in my hometown of Pooler, Georgia. My friends, family, neighbors, and community members trusted me and my pharmacists’ medical expertise and believed that we were always acting in their best interest.

If Biden has his way, that trust will be gone.

As a Member of the Georgia state legislature, I sponsored legislation to allow pharmacists not to fill abortion-specific prescriptions if they knew it was going to be used for an elective abortion. I stand by that legislation because health care professionals have expertise, rights, and a moral compass. Those shouldn’t be taken away when they put on a white coat.

There is no constitutional right to an abortion. As such, there is no federal responsibility for a pharmacist to induce an abortion. Biden can try to use pharmacists as pawns of his pro-abortion agenda, but mark my words: he will fail.

Health care saves lives. Abortion ends them.

Pharmacists act in the best interests of their patients. Bureaucrats act in the best interest of the government.

The choice is clear: get bureaucrats out from behind the pharmacy counter.

Tuesday, July 12: Once I’m back in Washington, D.C., I head straight to the House Chamber where I meet the Giorgio family from Savannah and take them on a tour of the Capitol and Chamber. For Ms. Giorgio, it’s a homecoming of sorts as she worked for then-Rep. Lindsay Thomas (D-GA) here in Washington some years ago.

Once back in my office, I meet with Michael Wurmser, Founder/Deputy CEO of Norge Mining, an Anglo-Norwegian mineral exploration company focused on mineral exploration in Norway.

After our all staff conference call, I have a call with a physician from Savannah to discuss practice issues before meeting with representatives from Georgia Interfaith Power and Light and Southern Alliance for Clean Energy. Georgia Interfaith Power and Light works with churches and nonprofits along the coast on issues of sustainability and resilience while Southern Alliance for Clean Energy is a nonprofit that promotes responsible and equitable energy choices to ensure clean, safe, and healthy communities.

Next, I head to the House Recording Studio in the Longworth Office building where I record a video congratulating the Frank Callen Boys & Girls Club in Savannah on their 100th anniversary and afterwards record a video regarding Iranian Resistance.

After our weekly Whip Team meeting, I head to the House Chamber for our first vote series of the week and afterwards remain in the Chamber where I pay tribute to Casper, the first in-hospital therapy dog at Children’s Hospital of Atlanta (CHOA), who recently passed.

Later, I head to Union Station downtown where I take a train from Washington, D.C. to New York City.

Wednesday, July 13: I’m in New York City this morning as I am live on set at Fox Studios and join a panel on Mornings with Maria on Fox Business as we await the release of the latest Consumer Price Index (CPI) numbers. Disappointingly, the numbers are higher than expected as they come in at 9.1%, well above the expected 8.8%. The panel, headed by host Maria Bartiromo, includes me, Fox News contributors Lara Trump and Dagan McDowell, and Wall Street Journal assistant editorial page editor James Freeman. As we crunch the just-released numbers, we discuss the reasons behind the startling increase, how long this will last, and the ramifications it will have on our economy.

After a great discussion, I head back to Penn Station and take the train back to Washington, D.C. While traveling, I join in virtually to an Energy and Commerce (E&C) full committee mark up where we pass 5 bills, including 2 bills I am the lead Republican sponsor of, H.R. 4990, the ITS Codification Act and H.R. 3630, the Lymphedema Treatment Act.

Once back at the Capitol, I head to the House Chamber where I speak on the PACT Act, a bill that provides assistance to our veterans who were exposed to burn pits during their military service.

Once back in my office, I meet with Georgia representatives from the National Corn Growers Association to discuss their issues of concern before meeting with representatives from Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta (CHOA) to learn more about the great work they are doing and present them with a copy of the tribute I made to Casper yesterday in the House Chamber.

After meeting with my good friend, Chris Downing, to discuss the new home health rules being proposed by Health and Human Services (HHS), I head downtown where I meet with Tony Vinciquerra, Chairman and CEO of Sony Pictures Entertainment and Charles Rivkin, Chairman and CEO of the Motion Picture Association (MPA).

Once back at the Capitol, I head to the House Chamber where we have our final vote series of the day, consisting of 22 votes and lasting till nearly 11PM.

Thursday, July 14: At our weekly GOP Doctor’s Caucus meeting this morning, we hear from Ben Ippolito with the American Enterprise Institute (AEI) as he updates us on the latest drug pricing proposal being proposed by the Democratic majority party.

Afterwards, I head to a Conservative Climate Caucus meeting where we have a great discussion with energy company executives to hear their concerns with American energy production.

Once back in my office, I meet with Hayden Lawson from Waverly who is a rising Senior at Camden County High School and visiting the Washington area this week.

Afterwards, I have an interview with Tia Mitchell with the Atlanta Journal-Constitution (AJC) as we discuss the community projects that I have submitted to the Appropriations Committee on behalf of the First District.

Next, I meet with my legislative staff to discuss upcoming legislation before heading to the House Chamber for our first vote series of the day that includes 19 votes.

Next, I have a virtual call with representatives from the largest completely independent pharmacy in Georgia and America as they describe the punitive punishments they have experienced from certain Pharmacy Benefit Managers (PBMs).

Afterwards, I head to the Capitol Visitors Center (CVC) auditorium for a classified bipartisan member briefing on the COMPETES/USICA Conference report. After heading back to the House Chamber for our second and final vote series of the day where we have 14 votes, I remain in the Chamber where I take part in a special order on Pro-Life issues.

Friday, July 15: Our weekly E&C member meeting this week focuses on the privacy act that we are negotiating with the majority party and that will be marked up next week.

After a great meeting, I head to the House Chamber where I pay tribute to the life of Artez Benton, a baseball player at my alma mater, Young Harris College, who was killed in Atlanta recently.

Next, I head to the Longworth Office Building for a Select Committee on Climate Change hearing on building an affordable and resilient food supply chain before heading back to the House Chamber where I speak on H.R. 8296, the Women’s Health Protection Act of 2022.

Afterwards, I head to the Capitol Plaza where I join a border security press conference discussing the invasion of illegal immigrants taking place at our southern border.

Once back in my office, I join in on our all staff conference call before recording a thank you video to independent pharmacists and patients across the country who are submitting stories of their experiences with PBMs' punitive practices.

After heading to the House Chamber for our final vote series of the week, I return to my office where I have an interview with the Family Research Council to discuss HHS rules requiring Pharmacists to fill abortion pills even if they are morally opposed.

Next, I head to the Pentagon where I film this week’s edition of Buddy’s Briefing before heading to the airport for my return trip home.
