Friend,
It's been a non-stop few weeks on the campaign trail.
Our primary win last month was an incredible moment that I won't soon forget, though we didn't have much time to rest or celebrate. We're quickly refocusing on our general election campaign, and it's expected to be one of the most competitive in the country.
I'm embracing this new, fast pace, but it's important to hit pause from time to time and remind supporters (and myself) why I got in this race.
Earlier this week, I (finally) had the chance to sit down and get my hair cut. My barber was quick to tell me that many clients who I'd crossed paths with were thrilled that I'd won, and are now looking forward to voting for me in November.
Normally, a candidate might write this anecdote off as something that's nice to hear, but doesn't say much about real support.
"Just a few people at the Barbershop? Not exactly a district-wide poll… and it's not like any political 'bigwigs' come here."
But that's not how I view it, friend. In fact, nothing signals momentum stronger than hearing that my personal interactions are making an impression.
From the start, this campaign has been about building relationships and establishing trust with this community. We're ditching the “poll-tested” playbook that puts voters on spreadsheets. I think we need better, more personal communication with the people. That's what it's going to take to bridge the partisan divide on the issues, and it’s why I’m in this race.
If you think Congress can be a little more connected to the people they are supposed to represent, join me by chipping in a donation today. We have big goals for our General Election push, and every donation we receive right now will go a long way in winning this race.
As always, thank you for your support,
- Eric
