John,

Wealth inequality in America is out of hand. While everyday people
struggle to survive, billionaires become richer than ever.

That’s why for years, DFA members have been on the frontlines fighting to
force companies to report their CEO-to-median worker pay ratio. Now, with
this rule fully in effect, we are finding out just how unequal some
workplaces are.

A new report by the Institute for Policy Studies (IPS) recently exposed
that of the 300 corporations with a 670 to 1 gap between the CEO and
median worker, 40% are federal contractors.

At a time when companies can hand out massive pay raises to bigshot
executives, President Biden use must executive action to incentivize
federal contractors to narrow the wage gap and rein in CEO pay.

CEOs don’t work hundreds of times harder than other workers, they just
exploit them to pad their bottom lines. In fact, the wage gap wasn’t
always this large.

In 1950, the CEO-to-median worker pay ratio was 20:1. It rose to 42-to-1
by 1980, and 120-to-1 by 2000.

So, with American workers more productive than ever, they continue to get
fleeced by CEOs who keep all of these benefits to themselves.

President Biden already took executive action to raise the minimum wage
for all federal contractors to $15 an hour, now he must make federal
contractors narrow their wage gap and rein in CEO pay.
