I’ve proudly dedicated my entire life to public service — fighting for jobs, justice, and opportunity here in Maryland and throughout our country.

Whether on the Montgomery County Council, as Maryland’s Labor Secretary, as a civil rights prosecutor, or as U.S. Labor Secretary under President Barack Obama, I’ve taken on — and won — big fights for working families. Even President Obama said if you “look at his body of work on behalf of working people, he has been extraordinary.”

I’m proud of the work I’ve done, and I’m proud to share my story with Marylanders. Primary Day is on Tuesday, and I’m hoping I can share my story, and this ad, in every county of Maryland before then to help turn out voters. Can you pitch in to help us spread the word?

Listen team, running for governor is no easy task – but hard work isn’t new to me.

I’m the proud son of immigrants from the Dominican Republic. I helped put myself through college by working on the back of a trash truck, umpiring baseball games, working at a warehouse, and other jobs.

I know the value of hard work, and Maryland deserves a Democratic governor who will work hard and deliver results, not just rhetoric.
