Hi John,
Sorry to bother you on a Saturday but we have a lot of interesting work coming up next month and want you to be a part of it.
Each August, Congress takes a recess, creating space for elected officials to head back home to hear directly from constituents about the issues affecting them on a daily basis. After meeting with over 70 members of Congress earlier this year, NIAC Action plans to build on this momentum this August by organizing more meetings directly with Members of Congress across the country.
It's one of the biggest opportunities to lift up our community's voice in each and every state.
From visa backlogs and internet blackouts that make it near impossible to see our family, to reinstating an Iran nuclear deal that would avoid a war and help bring down soaring gas prices, the issues our community cares about run the gamut. NIAC Action's purpose is to lift up our voices as a more powerful force in governance. We are committed to showing up for our community and want to invite you to be a part of that process. Will you sign up to join an upcoming meeting with your Member of Congress? [[link removed]]

We've got a lot up our sleeves to stay actives this August. We're mobilizing folks across the U.S. to attend town halls to get members of Congress publicly on the record defining their stances on the JCPOA and war with Iran. And, we're scheduling in-district meetings with Congressional offices to talk about our priorities in Congress, from US-Iran diplomacy, the lasting impacts of the Muslim ban, and the issues in the Rights of Iranian Americans campaign.
We're also working on publishing media hits in local news outlets on the JCPOA in areas with key members of Congress so we can put some added pressure while they're in town. Just because Congress is in recess doesn't mean we're taking a break.
If you don’t have the time to join a meeting or attend a town hall, can you consider chipping in $50 to help our organizing team turnout attendance and build out our programming during this critical August recess? [[link removed]]

It's critical that we continue to grow our voice at the decision-making table and that starts by showing up to hold Congress accountable to our community. And our volunteer chapters are tasked with doing just that: growing our voice so that we build our political power.
Thank you for helping make this work possible.
