John, who do you believe should decide the outcome of the 2024 presidential elections? The voters, or the state legislature?

You might think the answer is obvious. Our government is meant to be by and for the people, after all - but the Supreme Court has called the future of our democracy itself into question.
In their next term, SCOTUS will hear a case that could lead state legislatures to assign their state’s electoral votes to the candidate of their choice - regardless of the outcome of the popular vote. Put another way, state legislatures could legally steal presidential elections from the people.
Republicans have already proven that they would seize that power if given the slightest opportunity, and Wisconsin’s GOP-controlled legislature even tried to negate our votes by sending a fake slate of Republican electors after the 2020 election. It’s absolutely unconscionable that the Supreme Court would hand them the power to do it again.
We can’t stress it enough: If the right-wing Supreme Court majority once again sides with Republicans, American democracy as we know it would end. It would be a disaster in Wisconsin and other states with Republican legislatures.
John, in 2024, who do you want to decide the outcome of your state’s presidential election? The voters, or the state legislature?
