Whenever we hit the “send” button on an email, we know that the same people that receive emails from us also receive dozens of emails every day from other organizations and candidates who are all doing fantastic work with limited resources.

That’s why we try really hard not to send scary emails saying things like “It’s over for us if you don't contribute RIGHT NOW!” – because we're committed to moving forward with this work, whatever it takes, even when times are so tough that we can barely keep the lights on.

That said, sometimes the numbers are just bad, and this has unfortunately been one of those months.

We don’t come up with these funding targets out of thin air – they’re a reflection of the minimum cash we know we need on hand to be able to commit resources to things like grassroots organizing, volunteer training, digital media campaigns, and campaign support for our endorsed candidates.

The truth is that we NEED a minimum level of resources to do this work. Organizers, volunteer recruitment and training, ad buys, even these fundraising emails – none of it is free, it all costs money.

Supporters like you have already been so generous. You’ve helped us grow to the point where we’re flooded every day with applications from promising Democratic candidates in red states and districts all across the country seeking our endorsement and support.

We wish we could say yes to them all!

But we simply can’t do it without your continued support, because it’s important to us that an endorsement from No Dem Left Behind MEAN something – that we can put our money where our mouth is and offer our candidates meaningful assistance.

The fact is, poll after poll shows Democrats slipping. Republicans are hammering our candidates with brutal attacks, and we don’t have enough money to help them fight back.

We need your help so we can bring our A-game to this year’s midterms and help our rural and working-class candidates flip more House and Senate seats in America’s Heartland from RED to BLUE!

We’ll be honest: We don’t want to make ANY cuts to our election-year efforts, especially this close to the midterms, when so much is at stake!

But if we can’t raise the funds we need to support our mission, we’re going to have to make some tough choices soon.
