Mike grew up in rural Iowa, worked in a meat packing plant, and spent more than 30 years in the Navy. He was the only voice on a team of military advisers to oppose George W. Bush’s war in Iraq. He went on to serve under President Obama.

Now, he’s challenging eight-term incumbent Chuck Grassley — a far-right Senator who opposes gun control, a woman’s right to choose, and who voted against making Martin Luther King Day a federal holiday. It’s no wonder my uncle gave Grassley an enthusiastic endorsement.

Iowans deserve a public servant — but defeating an entrenched incumbent like Grassley won’t be easy and Mike Franken needs our help.
